I will suggest sitting with a good rest. Taking down small game needs you to be accurate, and shooting without support is too shaky for hitting squirrels or rabbits in the head. Find a tree, sit down and use your knee or a branch to steady yourself. Hunting small game is the best way to learn how to control your shots.

Practicing with support will teach you to be more disciplined. Small targets make you focus on your form. That type of practice helps with all types of shooting.
