Hit the local lake yesterday, trying to target some bass. Weather was a mix of sun and clouds, and the water was surprisingly clear. I was using a couple of different baits — started with a green pumpkin jig, then switched to a spinnerbait when things got slow. Ended up landing three decent-sized bass but lost a good one right at the boat. Made the rookie mistake of not having my net ready. Overall, not a bad day on the water, solo trip, but I wish I had brought my buddy along; he always manages to hook the biggest ones. How are the fish biting in your area?

Down here, the fish are biting like they have dinner reservations. Worms and crickets keep the bluegill busy, and last weekend my kid out-fished me three to one. I swear he is hiding secret bait somewhere. 😂

That feeling of losing a big one right at the boat is the worst, man, you'll be thinking about that one for a week! Anyways, We've been having some luck here too, but mostly early mornings on topwater before the sun gets high. What kind of spinnerbait were you throwing when things picked up?
