hey y'all, just picked up my first 10/22 and wow, I totally get what the hype is about. it shoots like a dream right outta the box! but man, the customization options are crazy. I'm tryin' to take it slow, not goin' overboard right away. anyone got suggestions for upgrades or small mods that really changed the game for ya? or just made it a blast to shoot? what should I tackle first?

Best to shoot it a lot........I have 3 that are all stock except one scoped and one with peeps..........Hanging all kind of crap on a rifle doesn't neccessary or make it more accurate or function better.

Cut the barrel to SBR it. Thread it. Suppress it. Scope it. Add a Timney or Volquartsen trigger. Upgrade the mag release.

Then, buy ammo and have fun!

Well dang...I'm still running mine outta the box for the last 25 years. Perhaps it's time for a new trigger?🤔

I have the Mannlicher in stainless and blue. Also found a Mannlicher 44 carbine to match after years of looking. I took all of mine and attached a larger power scope than was really practical and spent hours finding which ammo mine like the best. Of course the two 22’s like something different, but the results were eye opening. At 50 yards the difference in ammo was amazing. Some ammo shot groups as much as 2-3” better than others at 50 yards.

First item I would do with any factory 10/22 is change out the trigger.... at least 20 years ago the trigger was terrible on these... there is also a way to 'fix' the stupid bolt lock thingy so it is not such a pain... but it's been years since I messed with these... I did adapt two that would shoot a group the size of a dime at 50 yards with the right ammo but that also took installing a new barrel.
