Ramen: Good for the Prepper Stash?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about keeping ramen in the prep supplies. It ain't exactly packed with nutrients, but it's cheap, fills you up, and lasts ages. I've got a few cases tucked away but not sure how long they hold up past the date. Is there a better way to store them than just in the box? Anyone got tips for making it more useful in a long-term pinch? Seems like they outlast their expiration pretty well!

Have you tried dried beans and rice packed in mylar bags? At least this method keeps it fresh and bugs out unlike just storing it in the grocery store package.
