Standing next to someone with a massive brake is brutal. The blast comes sideways and hits you hard, it makes me think twice about using one. Does brake concussion bother you?

I dread being at the range beside a muzzle break, but the worse concussion was next to a pump shotgun with a 12 inch barrel. The shooter was legal with a class 3 license but it was bad being next guy over.

I took the brakes off my rifles and put linear compensators on for that reason. I get significant recoil reduction with blast forward comfort and noise reduction.

Standing near a big brake feels like getting punched in the face. I'll move if I can. If not, I wear extra ear protection and get ready for it.

One of the most frighting experiences of my life was from a 50 cal. Barrett.... I was standing over the guy who was laying prone when he fired it and it caused my brain to vibrate in my head for about 5 seconds or so... believe me, you do not want to be able to feel your brain.

Muzzle brakes are bad, but I think short barrel AR's are the worst. Especially when some doofus is trying to impress everyone with a mag dump
