I'm curious about everyone's first handgun—did you keep it, or did you move on to something else? I still have mine, and it's got some great memories attached. Share your stories and any photos if you have them!

My first handgun was a Ruger Single Six.I don't want to say how long ago thats been, but it cost $59. new. I no longer have it but I do have a Ruger Mark 2 I bought about the same time.

I started off on top. In 1975 my father bought me a Colt Python for my high school graduation. Making it a little more special was the fact that he hated handguns. Hunting guns were fine but he saw absolutely no need for a handgun. I was blown away when he bought it. I still have it and have probably put 25k minimum rounds through it

Dan Wesson .357 Magnum revolver in Stainless. Bought it new in 1983. Still have it. Paid $185 for it. Came with the 2" and 4" barrels. Bought the others later.

Oh man, my first handgun… that little Ruger I picked up looked tough in the case, but in my hands it felt like I was holding a hot potato! 😅 First range trip? Let's just say the targets got more sideways than I expected. I ended up keeping it though, every time I see it, I remember fumbling through my first mag changes and the pure excitement of finally owning my own piece. I can't part with those memories… or the sticker of melted plastic I somehow left on the grip
