I’ve seen a wide range of zeroing methods across the community, and it’s always interesting how each shooter develops their own routine. To help newer members learn and compare techniques, I’d like to hear how each of you approaches zeroing?

I prefer setting my sights to zero at 36 yards. It makes my AR shoot surprisingly straight, even at longer distances.

I'm just doing the box test thing at 25 yards. Should I be sighting in at 100 yards if I'm hunting deer?

I like setting my sights for 100 yards first, then checking how the group shifts at 300. This way, I don't mess up my elevation adjustments

I’ve seen a lot of shooters swear by that method for general-purpose shooting

If you’re hunting deer, a 100-yard zero is pretty standard since it matches typical engagement distances. The box test at 25 is great for checking tracking, but I’d definitely confirm at hunting range

That’s a really good way to build confidence in your holdovers
