I want to get my first precision rifle, but I don't know where to begin. I watched some people shoot long range last month, and now I'm into it. I have about $1500 for the rifle itself...I could spend a little more if needed. What rifle and caliber should I get to start learning precision shooting?

I think the Ruger Precision is the best out of the box set up on the market right now, especially in that price range.

6mm or 6.5CM will be good options with more ammo availability on the shelf for 6.5CM

I’ve heard good things about the Ruger Precision

A 6.5 Creedmoor in a reliable bolt gun is a good starting point. The recoil is easy to handle and you'll learn a lot
Thanks, that’s exactly what I was thinking. 6.5 Creedmoor seems like the right balance for learning precision without being punishing on a first rifle
